Holy Cross has a rich legacy of educating students for over 100 years.
We are a consolidated school from three historic rural Roman Catholic parish schools in Minnesota. In the decade before and after the Civil War, communities of German, Czech, and Prussian heritage were established in this region. Their Catholic churches were soon to follow. Then came the opening of parish schools during World War I: Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Veseli) in 1916, St. Nicholas Catholic Church (Elko New Market) in 1916, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (Lonsdale) in 1917. These schools were merged in 1969, becoming LNMV Area Catholic Schools. This successful merger represents a model for the robust future of Catholic education in both the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis and the nation.
Our current school building in Webster was built in 2005 on land donated by a school family. With the new school building, came our new name, Holy Cross Catholic School. We have a large, involved alumni base and a dedicated community of families, some of whom have been attending our school for five generations.
We provide a high-quality private education for students in Preschool and Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Our entire school extended “family” supports children in their learning journey. For over 100 years, Holy Cross has been teaching our students to be joyful, faithful, and successful.
