Holy Cross is excited to offer Montessori-style preschool for ages 3-4. We currently offer a 3-day program (Tuesday-Thursday), but starting January 2024, we will be offering a 5-day program as well.
Why Montessori Education
Montessori education encourages the growth of functional independence, and persistence with tasks, and allows children to self-regulate. It nurtures each child's individual strengths and interests. Our classroom has a professional Montessori-trained teacher, but the teacher is not the focus of the children's attention, they are there to set up a love of learning that will carry with the children forever and create a community.
What is the difference between Traditional and Montessori style?
Montessori is based on a child's individual skill set and mastery. Concepts are introduced then explored and mastered. This allows each child to learn at their own level. Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, experiential learning, and collaborative play.
Why is Holy Cross a great choice for your preschool child?
We’ve been educating the children in our communities for over a century. Today, as in the decades past, our philosophy of learning remains unchanged. Learning begins with a strong foundation of skills and knowledge, character begins with values and the cultivation of virtue. You can be confident that your child’s learning at Holy Cross will be joyful, faithful, and successful. Catholic Montessori programs provide a profound early childhood experience for your child like no other preschool program can do.
